I'm sorry to say it but Americans are not exactly BLAMELESS in these attacks. Had it been Iceland or New Caledonia attacked, then fair enough but I hardly think Americans were the innocent, blameless victims of it all.

I'm in no way condoning what happened but the amount of hypocrisy and hysterical anger comming out of the country (from what I see on the media) is stupefying.

Again I'll say, I don't support these attacks but if the terrorists feel the need to blow up two of the busiest buildings in the heart of New York, taking all those lives, then it says something about the way these attackers feel about getting the US' attention.

I don't exactly believe that those involved would truly delude themselves into thinking their plans were foolproof and that they'd never get away. I don't believe that was their intent at all. It was a way of drawing attention to themselves and are probably willing to be martyrs for their cause.

Bombs and military agression is not going to quelch their spirit as long as they believe in their cause which military agression will further convince them to believe. The only way to REALLY resolve this is for America on the whole to look at themselves with a fair amount of objectivity and place blame where blame is due.

I guess there'll be a contemptuous reaction to this thread because here's me, sitting in my house away from the madness without having any losses from this. But because I'm neither American, Islamic or Middle Eastern, I'm not so much coloured in my judgement.
